Highlights from the Event

The Campus Bird Walk at SSB Sure Shot Academy, brought together 32 enthusiastic participants for an engaging introduction to the birds found around their campus. Led by Manoj, the walk explored the academy grounds and surrounding green spaces, revealing an impressive diversity of birdlife thriving in a human-dominated landscape. Participants recorded 29 species during the session, with notable sightings including a group of six Spotted Owlets, the stately Red-naped Ibis, Indian Grey Hornbill, Brahminy Kite, and White-throated Kingfisher. The walk also offered excellent opportunities to observe a variety of smaller birds, including Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher, Small Minivet, Purple Sunbird, Pale-billed Flowerpecker, Indian White-eye, and Black-rumped Flameback. Familiar species such as Common Myna, Jungle Myna, Spotted Dove, Oriental Magpie-Robin, and Indian Pond-Heron helped participants develop their bird identification skills and appreciation for everyday biodiversity.
