Away from the water, species such as Small Minivet, Rufous Treepie, Asian Green Bee-eater, Common Tailorbird, Ashy Prinia, and Black Drongo added colour and activity to the morning. Large flocks of House Sparrows, Eurasian Collared-Doves, and Jungle Babblers provided excellent opportunities for participants to sharpen their bird identification skills and observe bird behaviour. The diversity recorded during the walk highlighted the value of university campuses as important urban biodiversity refuges and encouraged participants to develop a deeper appreciation for the wildlife thriving around them.
